Current in Series Circuits
The amount of electric current stays the same at all points in a series circuit. The readings of ammeter A1, A2, and A3 give the same amount of current.
Parallel Circuits
A parallel circuit is one where components are connected across each other.
In a parallel combination of resistors, there is more than one path for the flow of electric current. The potential difference across each resistor in a parallel circuit is the same. Electric current passing through each resistor is different and it depends on the value of resistance of the resistor.
